Today was my first day with my mentee and it was AWESOME! We totally felt like God matched us and are super excited about our new relationship. As I sat there and got to know her, I felt so blessed and in awe of what God is doing in her life. She is a new believer and I just love meeting new believers because they are so passionate and grateful to God and excited to share what He has done in their lives.
It's so crazy because the people I am serving, whether it's through work or volunteer work, are so grateful for the help. But in reality I feel like they are helping me more than I could ever help them! They are giving me a fresh zeal for sharing my faith and their stories and insight are amazing. I make sure that I tell them how much I am being blessed just by being in their presence and hearing their testimonies.
I am thankful for this opportunity and privilege to pour out my life into someone else's. Instead of filling it up with more things that are really junk, I'm trying to give and be a blessing to others. I think that is so important for us to do.
Our lives are not our own anyways; they belong to Christ if we are His.
